HOTTEST MALE:Boxing - gay elements? From Ali to Naseem where did we go wrong?

Just how gay is boxing anyway? Not as gay as wrestling for sure. I know that there is a big gay following for the high camp of WWF and similar panto but boxing?

Well given the high testosterone fueled process of banging the proverbial out of each other I'd say that it is very gay although I know of no gay boxers nor of any gay boxing fans?

There is the Jungian approach to psychology which claims that our enemy when accepted is seen to be part of ourselves well perhaps the boxer longs to be a winner yes but also to be close to something only men feel when they are together in love or war, in the fight or in repose?

Is there not some satisfaction in being beaten by a good man, a man you know to be your equal if not your better?

In submitting wholly to those pounding fists and finding that the world consists just of this pain caused by him and finding a strange serenity in the heat and pump of blood and roar of crowd?

The need for adoration is a need for love and perhaps the striving winner or looser craves this over all else.

Whilst on the subject of boxers there have been some very cute boxers over the years. Prince Naseem (Sheffield lad) was quite good looking when younger but since filling out a bit (see picture with Uri Geller - a bizarre duo if ever there were one!) this has taken the edge of his looks plus his arrogance has always been a turn off but then thats part of the boxing persona.





Muhammad Ali was arrogant so it's not always a bad thing if balanced with other traits. Plus being one of the most beautiful and iconic men to grace the earth cant help!

Whats interesting is how we got from Ali to Naseem. From the charm and charisma that we saw and appreciated in Ali to the flat transparent gloss of Naseem.

I think there are lessons to be learnt from this parallel. Lessons about what we value as a society.











Ali had much more humor and presence than Naseem could ever hope to muster. Looking at this picture of Naseem you'd be forgiven for thinking that it wasn't a joke. He was still cute in his day though.



Far cuter than Naseem of course is Amir Khan who's boyish good looks have made him something of a pin up. Much more so than Naseem who looks positively rough in comparison. Lets hope Amir Khan keeps his boyish good looks as he matures.

He looks particularly hot in some of the following pics notably on arriving for his recent court case. Again this first shot from a weigh in looks just like a still from a gay porn film!
